“Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting, for sure. It can take you right back, years back, to the very moment certain things happened in your life. It’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.” — Aretha Franklin

Perpetual Emotion Machine

from Glory

2007

This track did not take long to complete — I think it was done in one day. It was based around a simple phrasing of rising fifths, a chord-based motif I seem to have used a lot and go back to. I had simply decided I needed to fill space on the Glory album and this is was came out. It has a kind of darkwave feel.
