“Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting, for sure. It can take you right back, years back, to the very moment certain things happened in your life. It’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.” — Aretha Franklin

PERPETUAL EMOTION MACHINE

2010 Album

The Unforetold was my attempt to complete a thematic concept album based on what was happening in my life at that time. It was an attempt to tell the stories, in musical form, of single moments — as if they were frozen so you could see every detail for as long as you want.

Building on Omega‘s strengths, this collection utilized more collaborations than previously explored. The first three songs were seamlessly arranged into a single track, even using some of the same instrumentation.

Originally, the album was to be called Stop/Time.

Ultimately, I still find this album to be unfinished as during this period, I lost some of the files I was working on, and had to recreate some tracks using earlier versions in order to get them once again to a state of completion. Also I found that my creativity waned after the first and last tracks were completed. It almost felt like I was just cramming tracks into the middle of the album to flesh it out. Nevertheless, I still enjoy to listen to this from time to time.

Design

The original name for this album was Stop/Time, and I completed some artwork for this title before changing it. Note that the track listing is quite a bit different in this version.
