“Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting, for sure. It can take you right back, years back, to the very moment certain things happened in your life. It’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.” — Aretha Franklin

Depeche Mode cover

For Enjoy volume 2

I never used to be political, in fact I was so very anti-political so as to be apathetic. But now I am (even though I don’t really want to be — it was just kind of done to me) and where I am at on the scale is in no small part attributed to the music I was listening to at the time, Depeche Mode among them.

This is a cover from Black Celebration, describing how shallow people were in 1986 (not sure much has changed) and about how we can ignore the horrible things in the world that require change but idolify the most unimportant things.
