Breath is another one of my oldest songs, but unlike the others that I have brought forward to work on, it has been in a completely ‘written’ stage for a long time. I just have not recorded it for release because I have not yet felt that it has fit properly with any other songs or collections that I have written thus far. Having said that, now the Key songwriting project has been underway since 2022, I am close to finishing it.
The music dates back to the early 90s, but lyrics were written around the time I was recording Omega in 2005. The song tries to capture a moment between two lovers — they feel great comfort in each other, but there are problems in their relationship that both are aware of. Both know that ultimately they won’t last but they are trying to ignore that for the time being.
