This is a piece that I composed after watching all the James Bond movies in a row over the course of a week. I didn’t intend for this to happen, but at the end of it, I decided to write a song that was in the style of a James Bond opener – the slow and sultry kind, like ‘No Time To Die’ or the other Daniel Craig ones. It didn’t take me that long to work out the music and basic arrangement, but the lyrics and melody were a struggle.

So much so, that after I attempted unsuccessfully to persuade a few people in my circle to write the lyrics (and perhaps sing it) I enlisted the use of AI to assist. It came up with the basic cadence of the lyrics and main melody, and although it did spit out some lyrics, I didn’t like them much, but did use maybe 20% of the ideas and wrote the other bits myself. But after I described the subject matter of the song and the tone, it became clear to me how to structure the lyrics to tell the story I wanted to tell.

Essentially, this is a dangerous relationship between two people, and they both know it should end. But neither is taking any steps to end it. The singer knows that they are on the razor’s edge, but a part of them doesn’t care.
