Perpetual Emotion Machine
from Omega
2006
The Flight Deck Suite is the centerpiece for the Omega album. Combined with Reunion, the song tells the story how events converged and combined to turn a potentially happy situation 180 degrees in a matter of hours.
The details of the events in question are far too personal to get into in this forum, but suffice it to say that I thought I was about to travel across country to bring my daughter home with me, but that prospect was dashed due to circumstances beyond my control. It was clear that my daughter missed me and I certainly missed her, but it simply wasn’t to be.
Reunion, in this form, is a possible narrative of her and I communicating and connecting on an emotional level, inasmuch as was possible at the time. Each instrument in the song is representative of a different element of the circumstance we both found ourselves in. This musical ‘language’ I attributed to it came to me in a dream.
The song was extensively remixed and released as a digital single which was for sale for a time.

Return To Flight Deck (Daniel B Turbulence Remix)
Perpetual Emotion Machine
This remix was an across-the-pond collaboration with a music production friend Daniel Bodenham. The remix stems were created in the UK and I completed and produced the remix in Canada. This was also featured on the 2007 single. It is more of an interpretation of the Flight Deck track, than it is a remix.
