This is another song that I had too much exposure to and ultimately grew tired of since its initial release. The original 1981 single had a 12″ mix which was more like a dub — virtually no vocals at all, quite disappointing, actually, and I found the overall mix to be rather flat. So with this, I wanted to beef up the synths that made Human League’s signature and added some spatial effects to give the mix some breathing room. The point of this mix was to create a companion to the ‘dub’ version which might have been released in 1981. I think it works.
