hacked out at the Omniverge studio, while I was messing around with a Kurzweil K2000. Then, it was only the chord progression that I resolved to remember, and build a trance track around it. I thought it was a great energetic opener for the album, and it’s still one of my favourites.

I also built some of this around the ill-fated remix I did of Good Thing by Masters of Vision, since I had not heard from him about its release. The bongos and most of the other percussion were based around what I used on that mix. Later, that remix turned up on a promo-only 12″. I came across it in 2000 or so for $1.

This is the first time you hear my voice on a piece of music. I recorded myself saying “I’ll never give up trying,” and then retriggered it within the tracker to stutter it up. It sounds like nothing now, but I thought I was being so cutting-edge. What does the phrase mean? I’m not certain. I am thinking that at the time, I considered actually making a go of music, and perhaps this was meant to be a self fulfilling prophecy.

I cannibalized this song a year later when doing the remix of Give of with Revenant.
